State Government has announced to provide free electricity connections to farmers of the state under the immediate plan Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu government will provide new power connections only to the farmers of the state. Under this scheme, 50,000 farmers will get free electricity connections. To get the benefits of this scheme, the farmers will have to fill the immediate scheme Tamil Nadu application form. The Tamil Nadu government has also introduced a new scheme to provide electricity connections to domestic consumers in a day.

Main features of Tatkal Scheme Tamilnadu
- Under this scheme, govt. would provide free connections only for farmers.
- Currently govt. has received 20,000 applications under this scheme.
- As per find information, govt. has already released around 3500 power connections for farmers. In addition, 85,000 electricity connections given to farmers of state.
