Sanchar Kranti Yojana (SKY) Chhattisgarh Going to Launch Soon

State Government of Chhattisgarh going to launch an ambitious scheme named as “Sanchar Kranti Yojana” under “Sabka Sath Sabka Vikash Mission 2017”. Under this scheme govt. will distribute 55 Lakh smartphone for youths of BPL families. Main objective of this scheme is bring transparency in rural areas through smartphones. This scheme will be implemented in two phases.

Scheme has been announced by Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh (Raman Singh) in budget of previous year. Now state government is ready to launch this scheme to give benefits for students.

This initiative will increase digital connectivity through smartphone. Various state government services will be available on this platform. In short, Sanchar Kranti Yojana (SKY) will helpful bring digitalization in Rural Areas.

Around 55 Lakh smartphone will be distributed in 2 phases while 50.8 Lakh smartphone will be given in first phase in year 2017 to 2019. In rural areas, around more than 1000 families are leaving. In the first phase govt. will distribute smartphone for collage students of Urban areas while 1000 families will be covered in second phase.

  • ·         Smartphone will come pre-loaded features along with pre-loaded SIM cards.  
  • ·         Phone number will be linked with Aadhaar Number and bank account number of beneficiaries.
  • ·         Women of BPL family can take SKY smartphone.
  • ·         Govt. will give one smartphone for one person.
  • ·         Eligible students will avail to get phone.



Sanchar Kranti Yojana (SKY) will be also helpful to telecom companies to expand their network in remote areas. Govt. would provide free facility to install tower in the state. Tower will be install only at government buildings. This scheme will connect 55 lakh customers with service of telecom companies.
